WEDI is a movement revolutionizing how youths, girls, young women and children’s education and development is delivered. Through a gold-standard system of accountability to the young people and communities we serve, we have created a model that radically improves youths, girls, young women and children’s prospects of becoming independent, influential women.

Who We Are
Women Education and Development Initiative (WEDI) is a refugee-led organization operating in Kenya, WEDI was established in 2020 and officially registered in 2022 under the Ministry of Labour and Social Service.
WEDI was founded to address the persistent barriers faced by girls and young women from forcibly displaced and underserved communities, including limited access to education, livelihoods, mental health, and gender-responsive protection services. As a Refugee-Led Organization (RLO), WEDI ensures affected communities are meaningfully involved in decision-making, implementation, and accountability.

To Care, Advocate for, Support and empower the Women, Youth and Children particularly refugees and those vulnerable from host communities though Education, livelihood, metal health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) and Gender and sexual reproductive health (SRH).
